An innovative mobile application is needed to make supermarket a great experience for customers as well as executives/workers of the supermarket.

Introduction

These days' supermarkets are a place where every household and daily need products are easily available. In supermarket, multiple department of the store functions together and management of all the department simultaneously very chaotic and need to be addressed. Some of the problems mainly related to exchange of goods, customer complains, inter-departmental communication system is increasing with increasing size of the supermarket.

  1. Isha Nayak is a 32 year old housewife who needs accessibility avail coupons offers and register complaints as she faces difficulty in understanding the procedure.

  2. Rachit Sinha is a college student who wants to get over with shopping as soon as possible but the frustration caused by finding various products in the market leads to wastage of time.

  3. Sachin Singh is a busy self employed man who wants faster billing process as its time consuming and exhausting

Research Goal

Our supermarket app will help make the shopping experience for customers efficient and easy which will affect how customers shop in the supermarkets by helping them find products easily , avail coupons / discounts and claim them , have a direct contact with customer service department and make the billing process less time consuming. We will measure the effectiveness by user testing.

  1. Lack of signage and difficulty in finding products is the biggest challenge faced by the customer

  2. Customers don't have full information about the product like if the price has fluctuated , or if it is out of stock

  3. Most of the large scale stores are disorganized as the products are no arranged in a systematic way .

  4. Negative staff interaction causes bad user experience

  5. Each employee is given a specific task but some of the employees are not efficient

  6. Another major issue faced are the long queues during billing

  7. Sometimes card decline or barcode error rises up but the employee is unaware of what to do

  8. In some supermarkets , the manager overlooks the customer complaints.

  9. Supermarkets are too crowded during the weekends.

  10. Lack of information and difficulty in claiming rewards and offers

Our supermarket app will help employees communicate easily with each other, easily update the attendance of the staff members. The manager can easily schedule meeting which helps all employees know about the status. Employees can know information like the salary info nd know their status about the leave request.
